Vine type : Pinot Noir

Grape type : Rosé wine, light reddish when the vintage is excellent, dry, with a special fruitiness. Pinot Noir is appreciated for its pretty dark-pink colour, its delicate bouquet and its delightful fruity nose.

Vineyard : The vineyard is located on the Vosges Piémont (foothills of the Vosges). Southeast exposure, pure vine plant.

Harvesting, wine-making and ageing : Manual harvest, then grape selection and sorting-out, separation, approximately 10-day grape maceration, then pressing with alcoholic fermentation. After a month, first decanting to eliminate the dregs. The Pinot Noir wine has then to proceed to malolactic fermentation, a very slow fermentation which continues until the beginning of summer. The wine is then bottled in September .

How to serve it : Drink Pinot Noir at cellar temperature, i.e. about 14° C.

How to keep it : This wine may be kept 3 to 4 years (even more) in a cool cellar at a constant temperature (10° to 14 °C). Store the bottles flat, with the cork in contact with the wine in order to avoid drying-out.

What to drink it with : This is a pleasant red wine which can be served on all occasions : you can serve it with an entire meal from the first to the last dish. It is an ideal wine for garden parties, incomparable with grilled meats, brochettes, etc.

Original idea : Surprise your guests with an original aperitif : 1 finger of Wantz blackberry cream liqueur (1/6) , then fill with Wantz Pinot Noir (5/6).
