Vine type :  Muscat d’Alsace and Ottonel muscat

Wine type: aromatic dry white wine with a bouquet characteristic of the muscat vine, giving the impression you are biting on fresh grapes.

Vineyard: the vineyards are located on the Piémont des Vosges (Vosges foothills), south-east exposure; pure vine plants.

Harvesting, wine-making and ageing: manual harvest, then grape selection and sorting-out, immediate pressing in pneumatic presses under gentle pressure that will spare the grapes. Must clarification and setting, then fermentation of the clear juice. Rigorous control of the fermentation and maturation in oak tuns. Bottling after a few months when wines are clear and ready.

How to serve it: muscat has to be enjoyed cool but not chilled, at a temperature around 12°C.

What to serve it with ?   Alsace muscat has to be considered as a loveable surprising specialty. To be enjoyed on its own or as an aperitif at receptions and for example with Alsatian specialties such as kougelhopf or pretzels. And don’t forget: it goes ideally with asparagus!  What’s more, its delicate fruitiness will  fit many pastries, fruit pies, custards, mousses and other sweet desserts.
